You will enjoy all the comforts of a modern campsite with a heated swimming pool, sports facilities, children’s games, snack bar… You will also find peace and quiet and maximum privacy, with pitches well delimited by hedges that blend in perfectly with the seaside. Olearia, tamarisk, charcoal… We choose our local species with care, to preserve a natural setting that blends in with the landscape. Whether you are on a campsite pitch on the grass for your caravan, tent or camper van, or in a mobile home or chalet, you will fully enjoy your holiday with family or friends, in a setting conducive to a change of scenery while preserving nature. Perfectly integrated into the magnificent landscape of the Cotentin coast, with an unobstructed view of the Fort de la Hougue, the campsite La Gallouette is the ideal place to disconnect from everyday life close to the ocean.
Our “Made in France” and short circuit commitments
On the rental side, our accommodation in chalets and mobile homes is all “Made in France”, manufactured in Brittany and Mayenne! You will enjoy the pleasures of open-air hotels and campsites by combining the comfort of individual accommodation such as chalets or mobile homes with a preserved environment by the sea. Our plots are all integrated into a garden area surrounded by hedges, with a terrace on the ground floor and garden furniture to enjoy the sun.
The Cotentin is also a region rich in local producers and craft businesses. This is why we are keen to offer you the best of the Normandy region. Thus, you will find on the spot, in the campsite’s grocery shop, products selected by our care in short circuit: financial of the house of the Biscuit, caramels of Isigny, cider of Cotentin, local beer…
You will also find many local products on the weekly markets throughout the Manche. Don’t miss the market in Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue which takes place every Saturday morning. A real institution and a must during your holiday!
Our eco-responsible actions and our ecological commitments
We have put in place an eco-responsible charter to reduce the impact of the campsite on the environment. Each member of the campsite team is committed to the fight against waste and participates in the selective sorting of waste. We are all involved in reducing our energy and water consumption. This is why we also invite each holidaymaker of the campsite to become an eco-citizen during their stay by preserving water resources and by actively participating in the sorting of their waste.
In addition to the sorting bins, we provide our guests with a composter, located next to our henhouse. Our chickens are also excellent recyclers of organic waste! They will love to eat your vegetable peelings, salad, rice etc.
Thanks to the support of the European Union and the Normandy region, we are improving our facilities to reduce the campsite’s ecological footprint. For example, the pathway lighting and the pool heating are now solar powered. The equipment for our green spaces is also electric. Finally, a 100% electric mehari allows our teams to move around the campsite in silence and without pollution!
Region
Our campsite is perfectly integrated into the local landscape, in the very heart of the town of Saint Vaast la Hougue, only a few metres from the shops, the port, the sea and the Vauban tower. It is the best starting point to explore the Cotentin. This authentic and preserved area offers unique spaces between the sea and the bocage for a relaxing nature holiday. The Manche coastline has a diversity of landscapes and activities linked to the sea. Beaches for lazing around or swimming, typical fishing ports, dunes, coastal footpaths with a walk on the customs path (the GR223 goes around the Cotentin). Sportsmen and women can try out water sports such as sailing, windsurfing, surfing, paddling, kayaking…
